StepChange is a Debt Charity offering free support to anyone who needs help or advice. They can help you take control of your finances by offering practical help, and they will provide support for as long as required.  They have helped thousands find a way through and out of debt.  They have 5 offices across the UK but mostly manage enquiries online.

Citizens Advice has been providing Debt and consumer advice since 1939. With 14,000 volunteers and many offices across the UK, it has been the country's main source of help to citizens for many decades.

National Debtline is a charity run by the Money Advice Trust that provides free debt advice. It covers the whole of the UK and has been providing advice since 1987.  Their services are offered online and by telephone. They have no regional offices.

If you have already discussed your debts with a specialist agency but are still struggling to cope, the Samaritans may be able to help.  Rather than dealing with your debt issues they can provide independent support for you.  Sometimes, having someone to speak to can help.
